Covid 19 :Facing the strain head on. With the world being taken into a storm by the Covid 19 (Corona Virus) pandemic, life has been surrounded by negative and sad news that can make one dread the picture of the bleak future being painted. However, in the midst of all the fears and negativity, life goes on, what’s important being how one chooses to face it. African economies have been in an unfavorable condition. The Covid 19 pandemic has been a huge blow as The African Development Bank sees a fall into a recession of between – 0.7% and – 2.8%(News24.com).The African Union estimates that 20 million jobs in the formal and informal sectors are under threat. Sub Saharan Africa’s two biggest economies South and Nigeria heading for a deep recession according to the World Bank as demand for raw materials such as oil and precious metals from developed nations has dropped. Even though several African countries have announced economic and social plans but with less than 20% of the population formally employed, with social security systems non existent in the formal sector and with national coffers in a poor state before the current state, “the situation is particularly critical for Africa” thus according to the Finactu accountancy firm which operates in thirty African countries. (News24.com). With the above few facts, it’s inevitable that the nation is yet to head for a disaster. What’s important is intellectual preparedness that can be defined as treating or exercising the mind to have a higher understanding and knowledge of its capacity for future purpose. The mind being one powerful tool that a human has ever had, that can make or destroy one. Hence it will be worthy if one uses this opportunity in the lock down to focus on positive things that can elevate them —not only being limited to financial or material issues but all spheres of life. There is no institution that teaches about life but what one can get is the guidance on how to navigate through the journey of life, with readiness for challenges being part as through good and bad situations, there is always one thing to look for —lessons. Hence in the midst of the challenges thrown by the Covid 19 pandemic, getting lessons from it individually or as the nation at large will be the important thing to do. With Africans being known for being highly religious or spiritual, many will seek refuge in what their religious or spiritual leaders have to say, which is not a bad thing, however what’s important being exercising real faith that is equipped by more action than believing in fantasies and fairy tales of miracle money. Faith equipped with tapping into one’s inner self, taking full responsibility for one’s actions be it good or bad to find the purpose of life. In conclusion, it would be worthwhile for Africans who are largely to feel the repercussions of Covid 19 to be strong and be brave enough to face the challenges head on. Bearing in mind their brave and wise forefathers (heroes and heroines) who were successful yet had no modern day technology. It’s now or never that one can unleash that bravery and wisdom.

  3. Yess thus a fact, but its painful that many people thier life will be forced to change and many things wont be the same. But africans who are being leed by a wise leaders who has wisdom will savive. Pain will be there bt they will overcome. I guess its a right time to share and teach the nation coz ofcos black ppl want to learn in pain. Full stop

  7. Im so impressed with this. U are so bright ..and has a bright future ahead.
    Most black people needs to be reminded alwys coz thier brains are like a small penut….im sorry to say that. Thus why they wont see right and huge things that thoz who were sent to Africans are doing. Les hope wont repeat the same mistake that others has done before us. Unity and spiritual wisdom are the key now and beyond.
